Raising kids – the most challenging task that requires schooling

There are plenty of schools and academic institutions with endless topics to specialize in. But I never really found one decent institute that teaches parenthood. How can it be explained? We must bear in mind that parenthood is the most common issue we all deal with, so why not studying it formally. That is to say, the government should organizes courses that teaches all that is included in raising a child. There should even be online courses on parenthood. I did not run into a formal  institute that teaches parenthood formally as an academic topic. And I am not referring to the faculties of sociology or psychology. There you do not study how to be a better parent.

In the meantime we can read by ourselves. Luckily there are plenty of books on this subject. The Net is also full of relevant materials, for example this blog on family issues gives some personal (a mother’s) angel on raising kids. As blessed as it may be, it is still not formal enough, in my view.

Think about the outcome of such a parenting studying program: children will enjoy better understanding and batter care from parents who will become more aware of their role in their child’s life. The state will benefit as well: better education means less criminals and less welfare problems. In the long run, it is worthwhile.
